Sydney Sweeney: The “Euphoria” star appeared at the Berlinale in a Jessica Rabbit dress

Syndey Sweeney just delivered on the red carpet at the Berlinale not once, but twice. And one of her dresses reminded us of a very specific comic book character….

Sydney Sweeney just conquered the red carpet at Berlinale 2023 – and did it twice.

On February 18, the 25-year-old "Euphoria" star arrived at the photocall for his latest film, "Reality," in an Alexander McQueen suit that was more cutout than fabric. For the occasion, Sydney's stylist Molly Dickson paired black flared pants with a single-breasted, crystal-trimmed blazer with massive cut-outs that snaked from the front to just below the shoulders, leaving Sydney Sweeney's waist and most of her back exposed.

Sydney Sweeney's Berlinale Look #1: Edgy Suit

In keeping with the tailored aesthetic, Sydney Sweeney wore her hair in a sleek ballerina bun and contrasted her minimalist makeup, which was done with Armani Beauty products, with a single statement ear cuff.

Sydney Sweeney's Berlinale look #2: Red dress à la Jessica Rabbit.

Later that evening, Sydney Sweeney arrived at the "Reality" premiere completely transformed. The actress wore a red sparkling Miu Miu dress with delicate spaghetti straps and a subtle train. Who does the eye-catching dress remind us of? Of none other than comic icon Jessica Rabbit, who is probably unavoidably associated with her glittery, backless dress. And it's not just us who think so: the actress herself posts a video of her style twin Jessica Rabbit in her Instagram stories between snaps of herself in the red dress.

Sydney Sweeney: This is what her new film "Reality", which was presented at the Berlinale, is about.

In "Reality," Sydney Sweeney plays the role of real-life NSA whistleblower Reality Winner, who shared secret documents about Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election with the media. "I had the honor and privilege to actually talk to Reality Winner," Sydney Sweeney told the press in Berlin on Feb. 18, 2023. "And before I got the role, I sought out as many interviews as I could with Reality Winner to see how she speaks, how she moves and what her mannerisms are. And I then incorporated all of those insights into my portrayal during the casting process."

She continued,

"So when [director Tina Satter] set up a meeting between Reality Winner and me, I thought, 'Oh my God, this is a dream for an actress, because I can actually talk to the real person, I can get more into her mind and learn what she's been through in her life.'"

The Hollywood Reporter has already described Sydney Sweeney's "remarkable performance" as "stunning".
