Elton John and Britney Spears Collaborate for ‘Tiny Dancer’ Cover

Britney Spears is releasing her first track since being released from her 13-year conservatorship, and it's a collaboration with Elton John.

The track will be called Hold Me Closer, like one of the lyrics to the Briton's iconic song Tiny Dancer, a spokesperson confirmed to British news agency PA Media on Tuesday. It is not yet known if it will be a direct cover, the song has been described as a "new version" of the 1971 hit. Elton John also posted the title of the song on Instagram, accompanied by a rose emoji and a rocket emoji. Although Britney Spears hasn't hinted at the title of the song on her own Instagram, she posted a video Monday night of herself posing in a yellow ruffled top and shorts, along with the song You broke me first by Tate. McRae, with a red rose emoji caption.

Hold Me Closer will be Britney Spears' first major release since her 2016 album, Glory; she has released a handful of singles since, but these were mostly remixes of earlier songs. Now that she's regained control of her independence, financial and otherwise, hopefully the Toxic singer will tell us more.

Britney Spears has also been very candid with her fans and followers regarding the end of her conservatorship. “The conservatorship only ended eight months ago,” she wrote in an Instagram post. Being able to have cash inflows from the outside world for the first time is extremely instructive. »

It's unclear when Hold Me Closer will be released, as details remain sparse, but if Elton John's collaboration with fellow blonde Princess of Pop Lady Gaga is any indication, Britney fans have a lot to look forward to.
