Venice 79: Catherine Deneuve and Hillary Clinton, over and blonde queens of prime time

The French star and the former U.S. secretary of state vie for attention on the red carpet of the Venice 79 opening ceremony. Flaunting two chic and super modern spots of blond, because silver hair can wait…

On the first night of Venice 2022, the latest generation of blond wins. A variegated and three-dimensional hue chosen by the two power ladies present at the event: Catherine Deneuve interprets it with a backcombed semi-bond, while Hillary Clinton goes all out for a bob with a side quiff.

Venice 2022: Catherine Deneuve collects the Golden Lion with half-up hair

Guest of honor at the opening ceremony of Venice 79 to collect the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, the French national glory chooses a shocking red dress by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. The bold double bracelets are in gold metal, perfectly matching the dangling earrings that add decisive touch of light to the hair.

For the lady-in-red look, the star of "Daytime Beauty" and "8 Women and a Mystery" (79 years old next Oct. 22) opts for a semi-curly hairstyle. High and backcombed, with a loose forehead, but softened by the wavy movement of the locks that reach just past the shoulders. The hue is a masterpiece of blond shades from straw to ash to honey, distributed with a mélange effect that gives radiance and naturalness to the face.

Hillary Clinton, the straight bob with parting on the side

Completely different, but still united by the hue, Hillary Clinton's look. The former secretary of state and former U.S. First Lady is in Venice as the guest of honor at Diane von Furstenberg's Dvf Awards, and she shows up on the red carpet of the opening ceremony in a fluffy blue kaftan in the same shade as her eyes.

Almost the same age as Deneuve (she will turn 75 next October 26), the American politician matches the ethnic-inspired outfit with her favorite hair look: the medium bob.

The ultra-smooth textured cut barely skims the shoulders and is energized with a parting to the side and a long, billowing side quiff that adds volume to the look. But also a sense of lightness and sunniness pushed to the max with variegated highlights in a less golden shade than Catherine's, however bombshell effect. True power ladies don't fear aging, but gray hair can wait.
