Timothée Chalamet causes a transoceanic stir with her bareback outfit

At the world premiere of Luca Guadagnino's Bones and All, Chalamet wore a shimmering red sleeveless and strapless top, fitted pants, a wrap-around scarf, and plenty of confidence.

Timothée Chalamet, the 26-year-old Oscar nominee with – it's fair to say – a rather enthusiastic fan base, swooped into Venice this weekend and seduced the city with a mastery not seen since the days of Doge Enrico Dandolo in the late 12th century.

For the world premiere of Luca Guadagnino's Bones and All, Chalamet wore a shimmering red sleeveless and strapless top, fitted pants, a wrap-around scarf, and plenty of confidence. The ensemble was designed by Chalamet's friend Haider Ackermann, with whom Chalamet has collaborated before at fashion events.

But rarely has a red carpet hit the Venice Film Festival in such a fun and playful way. Online has caused a stir.

The best was when he and his Bones and All colleagues Mark Rylance, Taylor Russell, director Guadagnino, and Chloë Sevigny got together for a group shot. We interpret the following statement as positive.

Before the red carpet, Chalamet stepped on and off the speedboat in Celine camouflage shorts and a Bauhaus T-shirt, but mostly with a smile.

While Timothée could hardly have asked for a better reception, what was the reaction to his new film? Critics from The Guardian, Screen Daily, The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and The Playlist have been very enthusiastic, calling it an excellent alignment between the director's interests (young love and horror) and the cast. Indeed, this is not only a reunion for Guadagnino and Chalamet after Call Me by Your Name, but also an appearance by Michael Stuhlbarg. The BBC critic said "eh" and the BBC critic basically shared this opinion.
