In her latest interview in which she talks about the art of aging in Hollywood, the "King Kong" star also unveils her new line of beauty products to better manage the side effects of menopause.
Managing menopause better in Hollywood, and in normal life, is one of the struggles of 54-year-old star Naomi Watts. Who now, on the heels of the success of her community Stripes, is also launching a beauty line of the same name.
Naomi Watts launches a "menopausal beauty brand"
Her platform dedicated to the problems – but also the good sides – of menopausal life is a success, and now the star of "King Kong" and "The Impossible" is launching a line of products – holistic – designed specifically for managing the side effects of this delicate phase of life.
"The idea stems from my frustration and sense of loneliness that arose at the moment when menopause began," the actress explains to the American edition of Harper's Bazaar, "I had just passed the 'anta' and my children were still small."
A top secret and painful subject
Until very recently, and in a way still today, entering the mature phase with the definitive absence of menstruation was a real taboo. And the argument applies equally to a beautiful star even after the age of 50, struggling with the impossible aesthetic standards of contemporary show-biz: "At first I felt a sense of shame, the subject was a secret that I could hardly talk about even with the doctor," explains the actress.
Happy change is possible
The idea of the Stripes community is to help more agée women but also to prepare those of the younger generation in time. Because amid the changes of this new hormonal phase there can be pleasant surprises.
"Now that I've been in it for a few years," explains the actress, "I feel much better about myself. The most critical time is the onset of menopause, when the physical and emotional changes and you don't understand what is happening."
Beauty routine to feel beautiful
The antidote for dealing with all this? Talk about it and share the problems as much as possible. Since these are Hollywood celebrities, the dedicated beauty line could not be missing. After 18 months of research then come the products strictly designed – the star assures – to alleviate menopausal side effects.
