After Snoop Dogg comes she. The Firework artist is the new protagonist of the commercial of the English delivery company, including pizza, sushi and ice cream in quantity. The first unified global campaign of Just Eat Takeaway.com (entity born from the 2020 merger) has just been launched. And the face of this new commercial is that of Katy Perry.
The platform spans 19 markets
The digital food delivery giant chose the singer after having Snoop Dogg as the latest testimonial. This latest commercial, created by the McCann London agency, is very important for the company because it testifies to the extension of the platform in 19 markets and 20 languages around the world.
In fact, for the first time in its history, Just Eat launches a commercial in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Israel, Romania, Belgium, Luxembourg, Bulgaria and Austria.
The video with Katy Perry: Bon appétit!
For this spot, the artist (the only one with three RIAA Digital Diamond Awards with three singles that exceeded 10 million units: Dark Horse, Roar and Firework) sang her version of Someone Said Just Eat?. But that’s not all.
In fact, the clip that has been released around the world shows a courier arriving at the singer’s home, delivering food for all of her tastes. All within a house full of colors and fun. Needless to say: it looks like one of the video clips the artist has accustomed us to.
Among other things, a few seconds after the end of the clip, the singer self-quotes, wishing listeners “Bon appétit” (like the title of a single of hers from 2017).
The video features bizarre characters and colorful costumes. In short: an explosion of colors “a la Katy Perry“, which almost makes us forget that we are watching an advertisement.
Katy Perry often orders food at home
The singer – romantically linked to Orlando Bloom, with whom she has a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom – said she often orders food at home. And she added: «Most of my records have been based on the theme of food. From strawberries to mints and even mushrooms ».
The vice president of the global brand of Just Eat Takeaway.com, Susan O’Brien, commented in this way the choice to have the artist as a testimonial. She “She carries unprecedented star power and her funny nature matches ours perfectly.”
