The cult Dirty Dancing actress made new revelations last week about the musical's sequel.
Jennifer Grey has confirmed that she will be stepping into the shoes of Baby for a second time in the sequel to the 1987 cult film Dirty Dancing. Speaking on an episode of Extra last week, the 62-year-old California actress told reporter Jenn Lahmers that her character will be "a few years older". Her role will come to life alongside others from the original feature film directed by Emile Ardolino. The sequel will be "tricky and exciting" and will also be set in the fictional resort town of Kellerman's.
At the same time, Jennifer Grey is promoting her autobiographical book Out of the Corner, published last May, in which she details her life and relationships in Hollywood. "I really enjoyed reading my book," she says, without a moment's hesitation. I realised how much I've been through… how resilient I am. The Dirty Dancing sequel will be directed by Jonathan Levine and will be released in 2024, with filming starting next spring.
