Ben Affleck sells Los Angeles home for $30 million after marriage to Jennifer Lopez

Ben Affleck sells Los Angeles home for $30 million after marriage to Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez's husband Ben Affleck bought the house in Los Angeles for $19 million in 2018 after his divorce from Jennifer Garner.

Ben Affleck is ready to part with his Pacific Palisades, LA mansion after marrying Jennifer Lopez this summer. The actor has put the house he has lived in for four years up for sale for $30 million, which is $11 million more than it cost to buy in 2018. The 1,255.2-square-foot home sits on a fenced-in lot near the Riviera Country Club and offers sweeping mountain views from its seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Affleck bought the house for $19 million shortly after his divorce from Jennifer Garner in order to be close to his home and their three children.

The white brick mansion features a columned entrance that opens into a foyer with a grand staircase. Inside, the home features luxury amenities such as marble countertops throughout the kitchen, a pantry, a huge chandelier in the dining room, a wine cellar, a mobile theatre room, a spa-like bathroom and a recreation room with a full bar. Glass walls connect the interior of the house to the backyard patio, both with large fireplaces. And outside, there is a pool with a Jacuzzi and slide, a guest house with a kitchenette and bathroom, and large, lush, manicured lawns.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun in 2020, when rumours were circulating that Affleck's girlfriend Ana de Armas might move into the house, "This house has become Ben's sanctuary, and it's the perfect place for him to make a fresh start. The children spend a lot of time here and Ben has designed it to incorporate his healthy lifestyle and provide facilities for them to have a lot of fun when they come to his house." These facilities include a playground, a large trampoline, a table tennis table and a swimming pool with a slide, all situated on an acre of land a mile from Garner's Brentwood home.

A wedding, an estate, a sale?

Perhaps Affleck is finally ready to part with the house because he now needs a larger property to accommodate his and Lopez's blended family. After a fiery wedding in Las Vegas earlier this summer, followed by a more formal ceremony in August at Affleck's other home in Georgia, their family now includes Affleck's three children with Garner, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10, as well as Lopez's 14-year-old twins with Marc Anthony, Emme and Maximilan Muñiz.

Prior to his marriage, Affleck had also attempted to sell his 35-acre property located on the Hampton Island Reservation in Georgia. After initially listing the property for $8.9 million in the summer of 2018, he lowered the price to $7.6 million the following year. The estate is actually made up of three separate homes, including 'The Big House', a 557-square-foot Greek Revival mansion with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The Town star bought the house in 2003, when he and Lopez began dating, making it the perfect setting for their wedding after rekindling their romance nearly 20 years later. Despite his previous attempts to sell it, the house is currently off the market.
