Young women often become pregnant unexpectedly and unprepared. And they don't know how to handle this devastating situation and need help.Some women have family and friends they can rely on, but many do not. Women facing only motherhood need the help of a caring community willing to “take them” when they have nowhere to go.
To meet the needs of single mothers, Rachel's House was founded with the vision of helping women at risk through protection and care programs. The program's vision is to provide housing and vital support to women with many needs but few resources.
A supportive home brings stability and hope to a young mother with nowhere to go. She is with people who can understand and empathize with what she is going through. She always has open ears and shoulders to cry on.
Women are allowed into Rachels House based on need and availability. Intake is flexible, but prefers early pregnancy. Residents must strive towards self-sufficiency through education, vocational training and employment.
