The bond between the two was born out of an Ariana Grande impression, but over the years it has cemented to become one of Hollywood's closest bff couples.
Hollywood always surprises us with friendships that are totally unexpected or, at least, implausible on paper, due to differences in age and profession. However, there is no difference when there is a feeling between two people, exactly as happened to Ariana Grande and Jennifer Coolidge who, for some years now, have been one of the most beautiful bff couples in showbiz.
But how did this bond come about? It was triggered by the singer who, as a guest on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show, tried her hand at one of her favourite film characters: beautician Paulette Bonafonté from Legally Blonde, played by Coolidge herself. She recited one of the film's iconic lines to such an extent that it caught the actress's attention. Some time later, she said her imitation prompted her to write to her on Instagram to get to know her and, after a few exchanges of messages, they found each other on the set of Thank u, Next.
For the video of Ariana Grande's song, the interpreter of White Lotus once again took on the role of Paulette and, live, during filming, the two got on immediately. It is no coincidence that the actress remembers it as one of the best experiences and, indeed, in a recent interview, she emphasised how her cameo raised her career from a dead end and gave her the opportunity to participate in shows and TV series that have been enjoying great success lately.
The latest chapter in this friendship was written in recent months when the pop star, for Halloween, decided to take on the role of Sherri Ann Cabot, the trophy wife of an old millionaire, starring in the comedy Best in Show. Another homage to Coolidge and his role in this film. Finally, it took Entertainment Weekly to bring them together once again for a cover shoot, during which they demonstrated all the chemistry between them. Example? The actress recounted, with great sincerity, one of her best sexual adventures, just as one does between old friends.
