The Beckham family's London mansion, a 37 million euro mega-villa in Holland Park, has come under the eye of a thief. A criminal went into action between 8.30pm and 11.30pm on Monday, just as the family was at home. David Beckham, 46, and his wife Victoria, 47, were in the living room with their 10-year-old daughter Harper. The three did not notice anything. Discovering the theft was the couple's 17-year-old son, Cruz, once he returned from an evening with friends.

According to the British tabloids, Cruz noticed that a bedroom had been turned upside down. On the floor, then, there were broken glass coming from a window. At that point, the 17-year-old called his father, and together they called the police and, while awaiting the arrival of the agents, they searched the rest of the villa.

The thief, however, had already left, taking away electronic devices, designer clothes and design objects worth several thousand euros. The thug, who was masked and whose raid was caught by surveillance cameras, may have fled because he was alarmed by Cruz's return. In fact, the theft took place only in the room in which he had entered by breaking the glass, and the bandit did not inspect other rooms in the house. According to the police, he could be part of a gang of professionals who also ransacked other houses in the area on the same night.
The family has not officially commented on the incident, but according to friends, the Beckhams were "very shocked by the invasion of their privacy" and by the fact that the theft took place "while they were present".
