Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, the interpreters of the iconic duo Doc and McFly from the Back to the Future saga, met again at the New York Comic Con, on Sunday 9 October, to the delight of nostalgic fans.
Doc and McFly meet again in the present! The two star actors of the Back to the Future trilogy, Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, made a sensation at the New York Comic Con, this Sunday 9 October 2022. The two actors reminisced about the filming, much to the delight of fans, according to Rolling Stone.
"The chemistry between us was there from the first scene we shot. It was alive and it stayed alive for three films," Christopher Lloyd recalls with emotion, thinking back on the duo. Before specifying, of course, that "by the way, it hasn't disappeared". The 83-year-old actor recounted that Michael J. Fox arrived on the set of the saga when filming had already begun a month ago. "We were suddenly told that the actor playing Marty would no longer be playing Marty, and that tomorrow we would start shooting with Michael," he recalled. We had to start all over again!
Parkinson's is a gift
Marty, for his part, also immersed himself in the nostalgia of his first moments in front of the camera. He recalls the simplicity of shooting with Christopher Lloyd: "All I had to do was react. All he had to do was "let himself be overwhelmed" by his partner's performance. "Every time I worked with him, I knew it was going to be a good day," he says.
The 61-year-old actor also talked about his Parkinson's disease, which he made public in 1998. He began by thanking his fans, chanting: "You gave me my whole life. Then he pays a surprising tribute to his disease: "The best thing that ever happened in my life was this thing. Parkinson's is a gift. He clarifies his point by explaining that it's "not about what [he has], it's about what [he's] received" through his diagnosis, "a voice to help others."
The duo concluded this moving reunion with a hug that was widely applauded by the fans in the room but also by nostalgic internet users.
