Madonna becomes an NFT: a Mother Nature who gives birth to trees and plants

The star and digital artist Beeple have created three films auctioned on the SuperRare platform, where transactions take place in Non Fungible Tokens. In her career she has been – and is – of everything: a Material girl, The Queen of Pop for all her fans, mother of an army of children of all colors, wife (several times) and a thousand other things. But she is a work of digital art, that’s it: this had never been the case before. Until now.

The collaboration between Madonna and Beeple

Madonna, 56, likes to surprise us each time with a new image of herself, raising the bar of her (and our) imagination of her. And often overcoming it. The latest gimmick of the tireless star was the collaboration with artist Beeple – real name – Mike Winkelmann, in the creation of three digital videos, with the overall title of Mother of creation.

First of all, a word about the artist, who is not exactly a stranger. Last year he became known worldwide for his Everydays: the first 5000 days, the digital artwork auctioned by Christie’s for $ 69,346,250, the third most expensive work ever among those sold while the author was still alive.

You can buy them through NFT

Mother of Creation is a collection of three digital videos, which can be purchased individually at auction until May 13, 2022 on the SuperRare platform, where transactions take place in NFT, or Non Fungible Tokens.

Behind this operation there is a charitable purpose: the proceeds obtained from the sales of the three videos will then be donated to charity in favor of three organizations dedicated to women’s and children’s health: The Voices of Children Foundation, The City of Joy and Black Mama’s Bail Out.

The three videos of Madonna

In the videos we see a digital version of Madonna as she, completely naked, gives birth giving life to different natural elements: hence the name of Mother of creation. In each of the three videos, she plays a different version of mother: Mother of Nature, Mother of Evolution and Mother of Technology

“In the opening of each video, it is essentially me who give birth,” explained Madonna summarizing the content of the videos. “I am doing what women have done since the beginning of time, which is to give birth. But on a more existential level, I’m giving birth to art and creativity, “she said showing all her (non-existent) modesty about her.

“I wanted to investigate the concept of creation”

She then clarified the purpose of the work better: “I wanted to investigate the concept of creation,” she said. “And not just the way a baby enters the world through a woman’s vagina, but also the way an artist gives birth to creativity.”

As happens every time she has proposed a new performance, Madonna has divided the audience. On the one hand, those who hail her as the only true innovator and breakthrough icon of our century, on the other, those who crush her by claiming that she no longer knows how to attract attention. Meanwhile, on Instagram, among her comments, we read: “Could someone kindly tell Madonna that not everyone wants to see her vagina?”.
