He plays a chef, but he can't cook. Here are five interesting facts about Jeremy Allen White, the protagonist of The Bear.
The new must-see series starring Jeremy Allen White, available since a few days on Disney +, is The Bear.
The protagonist is a young chef who returns to Chicago, after his brother's suicide, to work in his family's sandwich shop to try to clear debts and reconnect with his past.
If you discovered Jeremy Allen White with this series, here are five interesting facts about him.
HE IS AN ACCOMPLISHED DANCER
Jeremy decided to take up acting at the age of 13, after dancing throughout his childhood. For years, he devoted himself to ballet and tap dancing, a passion he still holds today, although he is no longer a professional as he was in the past.
WHEN TRAVELLING, HE ALWAYS HAS CANDLES WITH HIM
The actor said that his house is full of candles, specifically Le Figuier by Diptyque. He loves them so much that he always takes at least one with him when he travels. He lights them in his hotel room to relax and to miss home less.
HIS FAVOURITE FILM IS THE GREAT BEAUTY
The protagonist of The Bear, apart from his job, is a big movie fan and watches films all the time. One of these is La grande bellezza by the Italian director Paolo Sorrentino: it is a film of which he is very fond and which he always watches with pleasure as soon as he can.
HE COULDN'T COOK, BUT NOW HE DOES MUCH BETTER
Before he started filming The Bear, White did not know how to cook at all. He learnt by taking cooking classes and taking lessons from great chefs. During the lessons he even had to learn how to hold knives. Now he is doing quite well, although, as he admitted, there is still a long way to go.
HIS PARENTS WERE ALSO ACTORS
Both of Jeremy's parents moved to New York to pursue their dream of becoming actors and met there working together and performing in major theatres in the Big Apple. They decided, however, to abandon this career when they started a family. Their son has inherited exactly the same passion!
