Andie MacDowell parades with gray hair at PFW: a choice that smacks of freedom

The supermodel and actress has given up dyeing for over a year, becoming an ambassador of natural beauty. A choice rewarded by L'Oréal, which wanted her to close the fashion show a few steps from the Eiffel Tower.

An exceptional location could only have exceptional guests. Paris Fashion Week moves a few steps away from the Eiffel Tower, with the Parisian monument providing the backdrop for the fashion show organized by L'Oréal. And for a magical evening dedicated to feminine beauty in its most diverse forms, the world's leading cosmetics brand could only rely on its ambassadors. Eva Longoria, of course, but also, and above all, Andie MacDowell, a star going against the mainstream.

The 64-year-old American actress and supermodel has long embraced the idea of natural beauty, starting with her hair. Even on the Paris runway, Andie MacDowell let her lion's hair flow, with fluffy curls that fell just below her shoulders. No dye, gray triumphed. And there is nothing wrong with that; on the contrary. The invitation is to become aware of one's worth without excessive frills.

On the catwalk she appeared wearing a one-shoulder dress in the style of the 1920s, wide slit on the thigh and feather edges. The look was enhanced and illuminated with bright eyeliner. Yet, what dominated, besides some minor uncertainty given by the long dress, was the hair. She had told People a few months ago, after deciding to ditch her brunette curls in favor of gray in 2021: "I realized that I would be happier if I stopped dying my hair. And today I can say it: I am happier. I really love this look, at 64 I feel free. I wanted to experience this and I did." A choice of freedom celebrated by L'Oréal in Paris.
