Clark Kent and Lois are back, but “Superman & Lois” are now husband and wife

With children and taxes to pay… The first season kicks off with the young lovers of the past in bourgeois format, and new enemies.

The myth of Clark Kent and Lois Lane comes back to life with the Superman & Lois series, broadcast from Saturday 16 July in prime time on Italia 1, at 9.20pm. First Italian TV while the second season is being shot in the USA (the third confirmed). Debut with three 3 episodes: Smallville, Legacy and The Perks of Doing Nothing Wallpaper.

Superman and Lois, the plot

The comic's transposition focuses on the story of Clark Kent and journalist Lois Lane (Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch), residing in Smallville, a fictional town in Kansas, where they returned after spending time in Metropolis.

Ready to start a new life, their children Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alex Garfin) grow up, but they still don't know if they have inherited the powers from their father. Once settled in the city, they return to establish a good relationship with Lana Lang (Emanuelle Chirqui), Clark's old friend, as well as his teenage crush.

Lana is married to Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez) and together they have a daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette), who will become friends with Jonathan and Jordan. Clark and Lois thus lay the foundations for a quiet life in a quiet American province. Everything seems to go smoothly, but the routine is turned upside down by two enemies and for Superman it's time to get back to work.

What happens in the first 3 episodes

The first episode of Superman and Lois shows a taste of what will happen in the 15 episodes of the first season. In Smallville, Clark and Lane are grappling with the new life, but above all with the new dynamics. In fact, they will soon discover that even in the deep American province raising two children may not prove to be the simplest adventure in the world and they will also have to fight with the stress that comes from the context in which they live.

To follow, Eredità will air. In the second episode, the protagonists' parental efforts continue, but perhaps they begin to get used to the new context. Just when they think they can breathe a sigh of relief, they make an important decision for Jonathan, who is being bullied by the football team.

Finally, the evening on Italia 1 ends with the advantages of doing nothing for upholstery. Here Clark decides to inform Jonathan and Jordan of their superpowers and of the particular relationship with kryptonite. Jonathan decides to join the football team and Kent is hired as assistant coach. Meanwhile, in Smallville appears Subjekt-11, a man with superpowers rival Superman, with the aim of ambushing Lois. Clark intervenes in a timely manner and manages to save his wife.

Superman in TV series and in the cinema

It is not the first time that the DC Comics hero created in 1933 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster has landed on the small screen. The first television transposition dates back to 1952 with Adventures of Superman – The adventures of Superman, 104 episodes with George Reeves and Phillys Coatesnel. At the end of the 80s it was the turn of Superboy, to arrive in 1993 at the famous Lois & Clark, with Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher.

The first decade of the 2000s is linked to the Smallville series, in which Tom Welling and Erica Durance played the young Kent and Lane. A cult for Millennials.

In the cinema, however, the myth of Superman has given way to the endless sagas on superheroes. Certainly among the most famous films are those played by Christopher Reeve between 1978 and 1987: Superman I, II, III and IV. The actor – who died in 2004 after nine years of illness following a fall from a horse – achieved worldwide popularity thanks to the role of Clark Kent.
